Directions

Take I-40 East from Asheville and take Black Mountain Exit #66 and turn south on HWY 9 for 9.8 miles. Turn left on Old Fort Rd for 1.7 miles. Turn left on Major Mountain Road and a locked gate with a button pad will stop you. Punch in the code *xxxx, go thru the gate, and continue on Major Mt. Rd for 1.2 miles and take a right on a gravel/dirt road to your right. Blue survey ribbons should mark this turn-off. After another 0.3 miles you will come to another junction and stay right on Major Mt. Rd, again, blue survey tape should mark this turn. After about another 0.2 miles you will reach a locked gate that has beautiful rock work and you can hear the creek. This gate has a combination lock on it with the combination of XXXX. Go thru gate and travel another 0.7 miles and you are on the property and will see blue survey tape marking the beginning of the jeep road loop of the tract.

Call Leslee Reiter for more information.

If you go counterclockwise (right) you will climb a hill and then see a jeep trail going off to your left and this a small spur that takes you up on a ridge with excellent views when the leaves are more off. It does not have a turn around and it is suggested you hike this as it is an easy short hike from the main road. Continuing on the main loop, you will soon notice an unmowed spur trail to your right and I would also suggest not to drive this but to hike it if you are interested in it. After about 0.5 miles from the beginning of the loop you will come to a jeep trail off to your right. This is another spur 0.2 miles in length and has a nice turn around at the end so drive this spur to see more of the tract.. The main road goes another 0.3 miles and brings you back to where you started from.
