Leslee Reiter Thornton is the principal broker and owner of Thornton Realty and has lived in the Asheville area for over 25 years. Thornton Realty, which has been in business since 2001, can be summed up with three words: dedication, experience, and confidentiality. Leslee has a background in environmental engineering (B.S.IE, Purdue, 1980), project management and trout ranching. She likes to garden, hike with her dogs, and enjoy great local music.
Leslee maintains a working network with other real estate professionals such as home inspectors, foresters, land surveyors, real estate attorneys, and appraisers.
Many of the current listings have excellent potential for second and retreat homes and many contain features such as waterfalls, creeks, ponds, mountain top views, adjacency to public lands and/or conservation easements, etc.
Asheville is truely "The Paris of the South", with an incredible depth of artists, vast botanical diversity, remarkable architecture, and was recently voted one of the top ten cities in the United States for "Food and Wine Destinations." Also, the great weather in Asheville enjoys long springs, and falls that go into November and was recently voted by AARP as one of the top sunny cities for retirement. If you like hand-crafted beer, Asheville is considered the country's top beer mecca for microbreweries. The "Beer City" title has also attracted other breweries, including an announcement in January 2012 that Sierra Nevada Brewery will soon be moving to the area.
